MARIA ANGELES MORENO FERNANDEZ

Presentation

Mª Ángeles Moreno Fernández obtained her bachelor degree in Physics at the University of Valladolid in 2010. During her last year, she carried out her bachelor thesis at the University of Gent in Belgium. The research was focused on the study the impact of laser and mechanical cutting in the magnetic properties of electric steels. In 2012, she completed her Master’s degree in “Energy and Fuels for the Future” at the University Autónoma of Madrid. The goal of her Master’s Thesis was the study of intermetallic compounds for hydrogen storage. In December 2012, she started her PhD in the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM). The research performed during her PhD was focused on the study of different types of electrolytes for carbon-based supercapacitors. In 2014, she joined the Institute of Physical Chemistry-MEET (Germany) for a PhD Internship. In 2015, she moved for a second PhD Internship of three months in Helmholtz-Institute Ulm (HIU) (Germany). The motivation of both PhD Internships was the study of different ionic liquids as electrolytes for supercapacitors. In February 2016, after obtaining her PhD degree, she stayed for eleven months as a Postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid working in supercapacitors field. In March 2018, Mª Ángeles Moreno joined CIC energiGUNE (Miñano, Spain) as Postdoctoral researcher, where is currently working on the development of graphene-based materials for double-layer, pseudo and hybrid supercapacitors.
