CIC energiGUNE has the mission to play a leading role in the international scientific scenario, focalizing on materials and systems related to energy and oriented to storage applications.

CIC energiGUNE aims to be a referent in the technology transfer counting with the collaboration of other scientific-technological agents and generating disruptive knowledge for the Basque Industry.

This is achieved by combining a world-class research facility, cutting-edge equipment, and above all, a high-level interdisciplinary team of researchers working towards excellent and high-impact research.

CIC energiGUNE looks for the best talent, wherever it is and wherever it comes from. This implies:

-       Attracting and generating local talent

-       Searching for international talent

-       Offering the best conditions in order to retain talent

-       Ensuring the return of people trained in the Basque Country.

In 2005, the European Commission adopted an European Charter for Researchers and a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Research. CIC energiGUNE has endorsed the 40 principles that compose said Charter and Code and it is fully involved in the process of implementing a Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).

For that purpose, CIC energiGUNE has made a diagnose about the situation of the human resources policies with respect to the 40 principles, and has performed a full gap analysis identifying improvement needs. As a result of this analysis, it has been drawn up an action plan focused on the resolution of the deviations detected.
