Ander Orue Mendizabal obtained his Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2010 at the Polytechnic School of Donostia-San Sebastian, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). After that, in July 2012 he completed a Master´s Degree in Renewable Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Donostia-San Sebastian (UPV/EHU).

He joined the research Group `Materials + Technologies´ (GMT) of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department at the Engineering College of Gipuzkoa (UPV/EHU) in October 2012 as a researcher in the field of the development of biocomposites based on renewable sources. In March 2014, he started his doctoral thesis at the GMT under the supervision of Drs. Aitor Arbelaiz and Cristina Peña-Rodriguez and in July 2017, he completed his PhD in Renewable Materials Engineering with the thesis titled "Composite Materials Reinforced with Cellulosic Fibers from Renewable Sources". After his PhD, he worked as Post-doc Researcher at the GMT (UPV/EHU), focusing his studies on the development of novel bio(nano)composites based on cellulosic fibers.

Since January 2019 he is a Post-doc Researcher at CIC EnergiGUNE, where he joined the Cells & Electrochemical Testing group within Power Storage, Batteries & Supercaps area.
