Dr Frédéric Aguesse received his PhD degree from Imperial College London, UK, in 2012 following a Master Science degree at the University of Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. Since his early start he worked with worldwide institutes such as ETH Zürich, MIT Boston, the London Centre of Nanotechnology and the National Institute for Materials Science, Japan, where he worked as research visitor in 2010. In February 2012, Frédéric Aguesse started as a postdoctoral researcher at CIC EnergiGUNE on ceramic materials for all-solid state batteries and post-mortem analysis of commercial batteries.

Dr. Aguesse focused his thesis work for the development of functional ceramics and thin films by means of physical vapour deposition techniques. He studied the electric, magnetic and multiferroic properties of crystalline materials. At CIC EnergiGUNE he works in developing all-solid state batteries and dedicates his skills for the development of thin films and preparation of ceramic materials with highly conductive Li-ions properties. Frédéric constantly looks for developing new skills and aptitudes and he is acquiring further experience by developing an inspiring protocol for post-mortem analysis and characterisation of aged batteries in close collaboration with international battery companies.
