JOB DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is seeking talented and motivated candidates to join our team for a PhD position focusing on the understanding of the reaction mechanisms leading to structural instability at high voltage of layered oxides cathodes for next generation Li-ion and Na-ion batteries.

The person will collaborate with international and dynamic researchers with expertise in synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials, electrochemical characterizations, and operando techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Small Angle Scattering or X-ray Absorption spectroscopy.

Main job functions:

  • Perform high-quality research within the scope of the project.
  • Perform, analyse and interpret the results of advanced physical-chemical, electrochemical and structural characterization of the target materials, including data curation and analysis/interpretation.
  • Perform, analyse and interpret the results of operando characterization techniques (eg X-ray diffraction, Small Angle Scattering, X-ray spectroscopies etc…).
  • Presenting results in the scope of team meetings, and at international conferences.
  • Reports/papers preparation for submission to peer reviewed journals.
