Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a highly motivated PhD candidate to investigate and modeling degradation mechanisms in commercial sodium-ion batteries. The research will focus on identifying and quantify ageing pathways in anodes, cathodes, and electrolytes and develop predictive models to simulate aging mechanisms and propose mitigation strategies to enhance battery performance and longevity. The successful candidate will conduct experiments, analyze data, and develop computational models to simulate these processes.

The student will develop exceptional skills and expertise in the areas of electrochemical engineering and materials science during his/her studies.

Main job functions:

  • Design and conduct experiments to study the ageing mechanisms in commercial sodium-ion batteries.
  • Analyse experimental data to identify key degradation pathways in anodes, cathodes, and electrolytes.
  • Develop and implement computational models to simulate ageing processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners to validate findings.
  • Present research findings at conferences and publish results in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Contribute to the overall research activities of the department and participate in group meetings.
