CIC energiGUNE is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the development of polymer-based electrolyte for metal-air batteries.

Job functions:

  • Synthesis and characterization of polymer electrolytes for metal-air batteries.
  • Polymer electrolyte formulation, processing at lab-scale, and characterization.
  • Characterization of solid electrolyte-electrode interface (electrochemically and chemically) and proof of concept study of polymer-based metal-air solid batteries at the lab level.
  • Design and electrochemical testing of metal-air batteries.
  • Selection of electrode materials and integration into electrochemical cells with the polymer electrolytes.

  • PhD in Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Materials Science / Electrochemistry or a related field is required.
  • Wide experience in synthesis of organic materials and more particularly of polymer synthesis (i.e. polymer electrolytes).
  • Expertise in metal-air batteries would be considered positively.
  • Experience in analytical analysis techniques such as NMR, DSC, TGA, and electrochemical workstation.
  • Knowledge on energy storage technologies would be considered positively.
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues in other groups, technical centers, and industries.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
