Haritz Perez Furundarena completes his studies in Chemistry with a mention in Chemistry and Biosciences at the University of the Basque Country in 2019. Under the guidance of Dr. Enrique Gómez Bengoa, he starts as a researcher, collaborating on an article which is published in 2018. The following development of this project is the basis of his Final Degree Project, which is focused on the computational study of an enantioselective organocatalyzed reaction.
After completing his degree, he completed the interuniversity Master´s Degree in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry in 2020. The Master´s Thesis is performed at the UPV/EHU under the tutelage of Dr. Jesus Maria Aizpurua and cotutelle of Dr. Maialen Sagartzazu Aizpurua. This project is developed in collaboration with the Biodonostia health research institute, where, on the one hand, pharmacologically active calcium modulators are designed by means of computational docking studies and, subsequently, their synthesis and characterization for use in biological tests.
Once the studies were completed, in 2021 he joins GMT group at the Faculty of Engineering, Gipuzkoa (UPV/EHU) where he continues his research on nanostructured thermosetting multifunctional nanostic materials based on renewable resins.
Finally, Haritz joins CIC energiGUNE in December of 2021, in the Advanced Electrolytes and Cell Integration group where he is currently working.
