Researchers at CIC energiGUNE and Hydro-Québec have developed and prepared novel olivine-type compounds for use in cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries. The compounds of the invention are sodium phospho olivines, prepared by a low-temperature direct synthesis which embodies a hydrothermal method. The preparation method of the invention is efficient and cost-effective.
