Violeta Ureña Torres graduated in industrial chemical engineering in 2019 from UPV-EHU and carried out the final degree project within the research group “Biofiltración” of the Department of chemical engineering and environment UPV-EHU in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It was about the synthesis of materials for the immobilization of Acidithiobacillus ferroxidans for its use in bioleaching processes. The project was framed within the project “Integral development of bioleaching processes for the sustainable manufacture of metallic pieces (CTM2016-77212-P)”. After finishing the degree, she worked as an environmental engineer for a year in waste management. At the present, she is ending the Master in Chemical Engineering at the UPV-EHU. She is doing the master´s internship and also the internship thesis about Expanded graphene foams for high voltage EDL supercapacitors and lithium-ion hybrid capacitors in CIC energiGUNE.
