Xabier studied at University of the Basque Country to obtain his Chemistry degree in 2017. He previously worked on Li-ion based battery electrode characterization by solid state NMR as part of an internship at CIC energiGUNE. He obtained his Master in New Materials from the University of the Basque Country in 2018. During his master´s thesis, he studied various TiO2-Au nanostructures as high efficiency photocatalyst. In 2019, he joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (Switzerland) for a period of 12 months as a part of the Global training grant where he worked on biodegradable separators based on cellulose for sodium ion batteries. In 2020, he joined Bcare MB for a period of 4 months with a grant from Novia Salcedo Foundation to work on Life Cycle Assessments of different types of electrochemical energy storage systems. Nowadays he is working at CIC energiGUNE as lab technician within the group of Advanced Electrolytes and Cells Integration.
