Jean-Luc Dauvergne received his PhD (Model reduction techniques and inverse methods for heat diffusion problems with phase change phenomena) in 2008 at the University of Bordeaux, France.

His most important skills are:

  • Development of experimental methods and devices for materials testing and characterization, covering a large variety of materials and temperature ranges
  • Infrared thermography and other imaging techniques for industrial processes and materials analysis
  • Modelling and numerical analysis in the field of thermal engineering, including software development
  • Advanced methods for images treatment and data processing, including inverse modelling techniques

From 2004 to 2005, he worked as R&D Engineering in THERMICAR, a start-up developing new instruments and methods for materials characterization and testing.

From 2005 to 2012, he worked as researcher (PhD and Post-doc position) at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of Bordeaux (I2M UMR CNRS 5295) and from 2008 to 2009, as Assistant Professor at the University of Bordeaux.

From 2012 to 2017, he worked as R&D Engineering and Project Manager at EPSILON (ALCEN group), a private company specialized in thermal and mechanical engineering with R&D activity in space industry, on-board systems, buildings and energy systems.
