Dr. Roman Mysyk completed his PhD in Litvinenko Institute of Physical Organic and Coal Chemistry, National Academy of Sciences, where he worked on the stability of graphite intercalation compounds.

After his Ph.D. he joined the Department of Chemistry, Dalhousie University, Canada  as a post-doctoral researcher where he was involved in studies on the kinetics and thermodynamics of clathrate hydrate formation/decomposition.

In 2007 Dr. Mysyk joined the Research Centre on Divided Matter, CNRS, France as a Marie Curie Research Fellow after being awarded a Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship. In the course of the Fellowship, he worked extensively on supercapacitors, particularly focusing on phenomena occurring under ion confinement in subnanometer pores.

In 2009-2011 he worked in both National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Research Centre on Divided Matter, CNRS, France, focusing  on the development of controlled porosity carbons for supercapacitor electrodes.

Since February 2012 Dr. Mysyk has worked as Associate Research in CIC Energigune. His current research activities involve the development of carbon/graphene and inorganic nanomaterials for electrochemical capacitors, including double layer capacitors, pseudocapacitors and hybrid capacitors as well as industrial projects.
