POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is looking for a researcher to work on the processing and characterization of cathodes for Li-ion solid state batteries.

Job functions:

  • Define and develop novel formulations of state-of-the-art electrode materials.
  • Upscale existing cathode materials processing protocols from lab scale to pilot line.
  • Process and produce pilot-scale cathode materials.
  • Cathode materials characterization using different techniques.
  • Electrochemical validation of the materials.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property towards industrialization.

Area: Electrochemical energy storage (EES)

Research group: Cell prototyping

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or any other related fields.
  • Knowledge of advanced characterization and analytical techniques to support material optimization studies.
  • Experience working in the battery field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish or Basque valuable but not compulsory).
  • A good team player who can collaborate with other researchers and with external partners.
  • Highly motivated to transfer technology to the industry.
  • Knowledge of safety awareness and protocols is preferred.
