POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the development of new electrolytes for advanced Li-ion batteries.

Job functions:

  • Formulation of electrodes and electrolytes combining different solvents, salts and additives.
  • Electrodes and electrolytes processing by different dry and wet mixing methods such as extrusion, high-shear mixing...
  • Characterization of the different components of the cell using techniques as rheology, mechanical tests and other physicochemical characterizations.
  • Cell assembly of coin and pouch cells.
  • Basic electrochemical evaluation of the formulated electrolytes in Li-ion coin cells.

Area: Electrochemical energy storage (EES)

Research group: Cell prototyping

Requirements

  • Degree or occupational training in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields.
  • Experience and knowledge in the following will be required:
    • Experience in polymer processing.
    • Formulation of electrodes and electrolytes.
  • Highly valued:
    • Characterization techniques as rheology and mechanical tests.
    • Electrochemical characterization techniques
  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems.
  • Proficiency for quickly learning new skills or field of study.
  • Good verbal skills in English.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • A good team player who can collaborate with other team members.
