JOB DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is recruiting PhD candidates to pursui a doctoral thesis in a cross-disciplinary topic, within the Thermal Energy Storage and Conversion Area of CIC energiGUNE.
Main job functions:
- Conduct high-quality, original research on nanoconfined fluids and their role in emerging technologies.
- Design and perform advanced experiments on fluids confined in nanoporous materials.
- Analyze experimental data and contribute to theoretical interpretation of results.
- Publish research findings in top high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
- Present results at international conferences and workshops.
- Actively contribute to collaborative research activities within the group and with external partners.
Area: Thermal Enery Storage and Conversion (TESC)
Group: Interfacial phenomena, colloids and porous media

Requirements
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- MSc degree in one of the following fields (finished by September 2026 at the latest):
- Chemistry / Materials Science / Physical Chemistry, or
- Physics / Nanoscience / Chemical Physics / Nanotechnology
- Strong academic background with demonstrated interest in nanomaterials or interfacial phenomena.
- Hands-on experience in experimental research (e.g., laboratory work during MSc thesis).
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good level of English (written and oral).
- Motivation to conduct high-level research and publish in leading scientific journals
