Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a predoctoral researcher to develop, adapt and validate recycling strategies for next-generation lithium-ion battery waste containing silicon–graphite anode materials, with a focus on both manufacturing scraps and end-of-life black mass (i.e end of life batteries).
Main job functions:
- Develop and test lab-scale recycling routes using different physico-chemical separation processes for lithium-ion battery materials containing silicon–graphite anodes, including production scraps and black mass.
- Carry out basic process optimization steps such as material pretreatment, delamination, leaching, purification and recovery of valuable battery materials.
- Characterize recovered materials using common physicochemical and electrochemical techniques, in collaboration with specialized researchers when needed.
- Analyze experimental results, prepare reports and contribute to scientific publications, project meetings and dissemination activities.
Area: Electrochemical Enery Storage and Conversion (EESC)
Group: Inorganic Materials for Batteries
WHAT WE OFFER:
- We are offering a 3-year predoctoral contract and advantageous professional development opportunities with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs.
- Full access to cutting-edge laboratory facilities and characterization platforms.
- The incorporation to a top research center in Europe that makes high quality research and impactful contributions to the energy and sustainability fields.
- Professional and personal development: opportunity to attend seminars, international conferences, trainings, etc.
- Integrated, enthusiastic, international and multidisciplinary environment.
Once selected, the candidate will apply jointly with the centre for a predoctoral grant from the Basque Government.
LIFE-BALANCE BENEFITS:
