JOB DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a predoctoral researcher to carry out a project on lithium electrodeposition, focused on mechanistic understanding, scalable thin, high-purity Li metal foil fabrication, and controlled interfacial anode lithiation.

Main job functions:

  • Design and optimize lithium electrodeposition processes for battery applications.
  • Develop safer and scalable routes for Li metal production and prelithiation strategies.
  • Assemble and test electrochemical cells to assess efficiency, stability, and performance.
  • Characterize deposited lithium and interfaces using advanced techniques.
  • Analyze data to establish links between process, structure, and performance.
  • Contribute to publications, reports, and scientific dissemination activities.

Area: Electrochemical Enery Storage and Conversion (EESC)

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • Strong background in electrochemistry, physical chemistry, materials science, or energy storage.
  • Basic knowledge of batteries, electrochemical processes, or interfacial phenomena.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • High motivation to undertake a PhD in an interdisciplinary experimental research environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
