PhD: Design Strategies for Self-Healing and Fluorine-Free Single-Ion Conducting Polymer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is seeking a person interested in pursuing a PhD in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials.
The project will be developed within the frame of a European project (ALISTORE), allowing the predoctoral student to be in contact with renown international companies and research centers. The PhD thesis will be together with Uppsala University, Sweden.
The aim of the project will be to develop self-healing polymer electrolytes.Desing and development of polymer electrolytes.
Main job functions:
- Synthesis of polymers.
- Desing and development of polymer electrolytes.
- Physicochemical and thermal characterization by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), operando Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy FTIR and Raman spectroscopy.
- Electrochemical characterization to evaluate the performance of developed electrolytes in solid-state batteries (galvanostatic cycling, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS).
- Presenting results at international conferences.
- Preparation of reports and papers for submission to peer reviewed journals

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Master in Physical, Chemical, Materials science or similar.
- A good level of spoken and written English.
- A team player who can collaborate with other researchers, groups.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and autonomy.
