Beatriz Valle obtained her Cum Laude PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2008, and received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in 2010. In 2011, she complemented her training with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Renewable Energies, and Corporate Social Responsibility (EUDE Business School).
Since 2009, her research focused on the valorization of biomass waste (bio-oil) for the sustainable production of hydrogen and biofuels, working within the Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization group (CPWV, UPV/EHU). This group specializes in designing innovative processes in the energy and environmental fields, with a strong focus on chemical reaction engineering.
With a solid background in R&D projects and international collaborations, Dr. Valle has significantly contributed to knowledge generation through high-impact scientific publications. Her expertise includes the synthesis and characterization of solid materials (adsorbents and catalysts), the design and execution of experiments in laboratory-scale reactors, online analysis using advanced chromatographic techniques, and kinetic and thermodynamic studies for the optimization of catalytic processes. Additionally, she has actively participated in the training of researchers, both as a lecturer and as a supervisor of two doctoral theses and several undergraduate research projects.
With the aim of contributing effectively to the transition towards a more responsible and sustainable industry, Dr. Valle has reoriented her career towards the development of advanced materials for thermal energy storage and production of sustainable fuels. In 2025, she joined CIC energiGUNE as a postdoctoral researcher in the Solid-State Chemical Reactions group.
