Patrick Johansson

Patrick Johansson is a professor at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and a leading researcher in the field of electrochemical energy storage. His work focuses on the development and fundamental understanding of new battery electrolytes, studying these materials at the molecular level through both experimental and computational approaches. Throughout his career, he has investigated a variety of electrochemical systems, particularly lithium-ion, sodium-ion, magnesium, and other next-generation battery technologies. His research aims to design safer, more stable, and more efficient electrolytes that can improve battery performance, lifetime, and safety, contributing to key technologies for the energy transition such as electric vehicles and large-scale renewable energy storage.
