Andrea obtained her degree in Polymer Engineering from YachayTech University in Ecuador. During her Bachelor’s degree, she carried out her thesis at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Her project aimed to develop a photobioreactor leaf-like silica monolith for CO2 adsorption. She also completed an internship at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico, receiving training in the development of new bio-based materials.
Continuing her academic journey, Andrea pursued a Double Master’s in Polymer Science, a joint program between the University of Bordeaux (UBx) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). At UPV/EHU, she contributed as a project assistant, working in the development of polymer blends from renewable resources. For her Master´s thesis, Andrea led a project at Dow Chemical Iberica Tarragona within the Packaging & Specialty Plastics department. Her research focused on developing an innovative solution for collation shrink films using post-consumer recycled plastics.
