Ángela Tejero Plaza graduated in Chemistry from Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM) in 2023. During her final year, she completed an internship at the clinical laboratory of the Spanish Commission for the Fight Against Doping in Sports. Her bachelor’s thesis “Synthesis of inorganic materials for application in potassium-ion batteries” focused on the optimization of the synthesis method of hollandite-type structure manganese oxides and their structural and electrochemical characterization. This work sparked her interest in the research field of energy storage.
In 2024, she obtained a Master in Chemical Sciences and Technology at UCM. Her master’s thesis “Manganese Oxides for Energy Storage Applications” involved the synthesis and characterization of manganese oxides with a birnessite-type structure and the enhancement of their electrochemical properties in potassium-ion batteries. Both projects were developed as part of the European project SPIRIT.
