Arantzazu Letona Elizburu obtained her degree in Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza in 2020. Arantzazu joined CIC energiGUNE in 2019 as a summer student for two months and a half. During this period, the evaluation of new non-toxic chelating agents for sodium and lithium batteries was carried out by means of solid and liquid nuclear magnetic resonance. Her degree project on functional models for oxygen activation was accomplished at the University of Zaragoza. Later, she coursed a master in New Materials at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) together with the University of Cantabria, whose master thesis was based on the optimization of the triple phase boundary in graphene cathodes for sodium-air batteries.

In September 2021 Arantzazu joined CIC energiGUNE as a pre-doctoral researcher to carry out her doctoral thesis on the development of bifunctional cathodes by exploting biological systems in metal-air batteries.
