Asier Soria Fernández graduated in Materials Engineering at the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) in 2020. As part of a collaboration programme between European universities, he completed his final year of his degree, along with his degree project in Nancy (France) at the EEIGM (École Européenne d´Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux). Within this programme, he started his Master studies in Materials Science and Engineering (2020-2022), doing one semester at EEIGM, and continuing at Luleå Tekniska Universitet (LTU) in Sweden, where he worked on a project on the development and characterisation of oxide-based thin-film solar cells, and his Master thesis on Metal Matrix Composites together with Sandvik SRP AB. In August 2022 he joined CIC energiGUNE as a lab technician in the Li-S research line, working on the processing and optimisation of Li-S batteries.
