One of the shortcomings of the energy sector for decades has been the lack of systems to ensure efficient storage of electrical energy. Until now, reversible power plants have fulfilled this task, but these electrical installations are not able to manage the energy production associated with renewable sources efficiently and at a viable price.

CIC Energigune has taken a step forward for the Basque Country to be at the forefront of this emerging sector by developing technology that stores energy so that the production of solar thermal power plants and other Basque sectors related to power electronics, for example, can achieve greater efficiency and profitability in energy production.
