After 10 years of experience in academia and the private sector in the fields of Medical Applications and Energy, Cristina positions herself as a bridge between the technical and business development worlds.
Cristina’s initial experience in the research field allowed her to deepen her understanding of thermal and kinetic energy transfer of flat heat pipe capillary wicks in CETHIL Laboratory (Centre Thermique de Lyon at INSA Lyon).
Thereafter, Cristina completed her PhD international degree in Technology & Science of New Materials from the Universities of Seville and Extremadura, focused on surface modifications of porous titanium substrates for implants. She specialised in the development of innovative materials for biomedical applications, working across the UK, the USA and Spain.
In the private sector, Cristina worked at the Operations & Evaluation Unit of Abengoa Bioenergy New Technologies, with a focus on technological surveillance and the implementation and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
In 2019, she joined CIDETEC Nanomedicine Institute as a Technical Lead, providing team guidance, ensuring technical excellence, and bridging the gap between technical complexities and business objectives for several national and international projects.
Three years later, transitioned from technical leadership to business intelligence across three different verticals: Energy Storage, Surface Engineering and Nanomedicine. Since then, she had the opportunity to deliver technological and market surveillance services and IP management. Additionally, she drove effective strategic decision-making within the company by leading Voice of Customers (VoC) activities.
Cristina’s technical background, coupled with her expertise in Strategic Intelligence, enabled her to join CIC EnergiGUNE as an Intellectual Property Manager in 2024.
