Daniele Campanella obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (2016) and his Master’s degree in Chemical Sciences (2018) at the university of Ferrara, Italy, where he was introduced to the field of electrochemistry and material science. His activities focused in particular on energy storage and secondary batteries. In his master Project, he worked on the synthesis of a new cathode material for application in sodium-ion batteries. In 2023, he obtained a PhD in chemistry at the Université du Québec a Montréal (UQAM) in Canada, working on the synthesis and characterization of inorganic solid electrolytes, focusing in particular on garnets and NASICONs. The project was carried on in collaboration with the Centre d’excellence en électrification des transports et en stockage d’énergie (CEETSE) of Hydro-Québec. His PhD thesis, supervised by Prof. Daniel Bélanger, was titled “Optimization of ceramic materials for application as solid-state electrolytes in lithium batteries”. In this period, he specialized in solid-state synthesis methods and in the electrochemical characterization of cells (EIS, voltammetry, battery cycling), alongside more conventional structural characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, EDS).
