Davide Caporale conducted his studies at Sapienza University of Rome. In 2019, with a thesis devoted to the study of measurement techniques for connective tissue diseases, he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Engineering. Then, in 2022, he carried out his Master’s degree in Nanotechnology Engineering.
He worked as a master´s thesis student in the molecular photonics laboratory of Prof. Francesco Michelotti, with the aim to optimize a breast cancer biomarker detection technique. He focused his research on the interaction between macromolecules to enhance the fluorescence signal stimulated by Bloch Surface waves excited by one-dimensional photonic crystals.
Then, during his experience in the private sector, he worked as a Junior researcher to the MICOLET project in cooperation with Sapienza University of Rome and Italian Institute of Technology. He developed an optical cavity microscope for the diagnosis of deep skin injuries at terahertz frequencies.
In September 2023, Davide Caporale joined CIC energiGUNE as a pre-doctoral reasearcher to conduct a doctoral thesis about the physicochemical phenomena of wetting-drying of nanoporous material with non-wetting liquids.
