Diya completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in July 2024 at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, with a focus on materials chemistry, nanotechnology, and electrochemistry. Her undergraduate research centered on the development of metal-doped MnFeO3/Ti3C2 composites for supercapacitor applications. During her bachelor´s studies, she also completed an internship at the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan, which strengthened her understanding of energy-related industrial processes and their practical applications.
In September 2024, Diya joined the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s program, Interdisciplinarity in Material for Energy Storage and Conversion (i-MESC), studying at leading European institutions including Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Paul Sabatier University (France), and UPV/EHU Bilbao (Spain). Additionally, she completed a summer research internship at Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, where she worked on single-atom decorated TiO2 nanotubes for photocatalytic hydrogen generation and environmental remediation.
She is currently conducting her master’s thesis at CIC energiGUNE, focusing on the development and characterization of cathode materials for Na-ion batteries.
