Eder Amayuelas (Bachellor’s degree in Geology, 2011) passed the Master in New Materials in 2013 and his PhD degree in Materials Science and Technology in 2017. During his pre and early postdoctoral stages at the University of the Basque Country, his research focused on the synthesis and characterization of new porous metal-organic compounds (MOF type materials) based on porphyrin ligands with special interest to structural analysis for the study of their properties by means of powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, spectroscopic, thermal and magnetic techniques and their potential application in fields of industrial interest such as heterogeneous catalysis, adsorption of gases and pollutants in solution. In 2018, he joined BCMaterials for a short period of time, where he participated in an Elkartek project, specifically in the functionalization of metal-organic frameworks for their use in heavy metal ions removal from wastewaters. From 2019 to 2020 he carried out his postdoctoral research work in France, at the CNRS research center Conditions Extrêmes et Matériaux: Haute Température et Irradiation, within the framework of an ERC project for the development of new porous materials based on graphene oxide focused on its photochemical and electrochemical properties. In December 2020 he joined the CIC energiGUNE as a postdoctoral researcher where he currently works in the area of thermal energy storage.
