Description

Electrochemical testing lab aims to test the electrochemical response of any electrochemical energy systems (i.e. battery materials, batteries, super-capacitors, customized cells, etc.). Typical electrochemical protocol would be galvanostatic cycling, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, C-rates and more in-depth analysis such as GITT, PITT can also be realized. The electrochemical testing could be performed at various temperature (from -720ºC up to 180ºC) and using various currents (from microamps to several amps).

    The electrochemical lab is equipped with a Series 4000 model battery tester. It is fully equipped with 192 channels.

    Specifications:

    • Voltage Ranges: available up to 180 V maximum
    • Voltage Accuracy: 0.02% of full scale voltage
    • Current Ranges: Single Current Range 1 mA to 2000 A; Four Current Ranges: 150 µA, 5 mA, 150 mA, 5A

    VMP3 from BIOLOGIC

    The VMP3 potentiostat is built around a modular chassis design where up to 16 independent channels can be installed.

    The VMP3 can be equipped with additional capabilities, including low current measurement, impedance and high current capability via plug-in modules.

    Our lab is equipped with six VMP3 potentiostat chassis with a total of:

    • 63 standard channels (400mA)
    • 30 standard channels with EIS (10µHz to 1 MHz)
    • 1 Booster 4A with EIS

    With the following main specifications:

    • Compliance: 20 V range adjustable from [-20;0] V to [0;+20] V
    • Current ranging from 10 μA up to 400 mA
    • Low current: 4 ranges 1 μA to 1 nA with a resolution of 76 fA
    • EIS measurement from 10 µHz to 1 MHz
  • BATTERY CYCLER (BCS-800 Series from Biologic)

    BATTERY CYCLER (BCS-800 Series from Biologic)

    BCS-800 series is a modular battery testing system with EIS capability. Made up of three core products (BCS-805, 810 and 815), these advanced battery cyclers offer 8 independent channels with a maximum current of ±150 mA, ±1.5 A and ±15A, respectively per channel and a voltage range from 0V to 9V or from 0V to 10V depending in the module.

    The tester in our lab is equipped with the following:

    • 16 channels 15A: 0-9V
    • 40 channels 1.5A: 0-10V
    • 40channels 150mA:0-10V

    The EIS range for all the channels goes from frequencies of 10 kHz to 10 mHz

  • NEWARE BTS4000-5V10mA

    NEWARE BTS4000-5V10mA

    Neware BTS4000 5V series (for cells) battery tester ranges from 1mA up to 3000A, you can use it to test coin cells, pouch cells, cylinder (18650, 26650, 27710, etc) and even paralleled battery modules and packs. 

    The equipment we are working with is equipped with 64 channels with the following specifications:

    • Accuracy: 0.05% full scale
    • 10mA current output range: 5uA-1mA; 1mA-10mA (Max current: 10mA)
    • Voltage output range: 25mV-5V (Max voltage: 5V)
    • Minimum discharge voltage: -2V
    • Data record frequency: up to 10Hz
    • Mainly for: Coin cell and pouch
  • CLIMATIC CHAMBER - VOTSCH 7400

    CLIMATIC CHAMBER - VOTSCH 7400

    The climatic chamber (model VT7004) is appropriate to test cells at a constant temperature when it is critical in the performance and also to analyze the effect of the temperature.

    Specifications:

    • Temperatura rate of change: 5.3K/min for heating - 4.7K/min for cooling

    BINDER cooling incubators are gentle on samples and provide high-quality performance. Every KB Series cooling incubator thus makes safe, reproducible incubation possible, even at high ambient temperatures.

    The models we are working with are KB23 and KB53 with the following specifications:

    • 2 units 20L volume
    • 9 units 53L volume
    • Temperature range: -5 to 100ºC

    SAFETY CHAMBER – CTS

    In the CTS climatic test cabinets, not only the temperature but also the humidity stress factor can be simulated. The humidity is measured with a capacitive sensor which stands out for its high precision, lack of maintenance and long-term stability.

    The model we are working with is from the series C: C-70/200/Li with the following characteristics:

    • Volume: 200L
    • Temperature range: -70 to 180ºC
    • Humidity range: 10 to 98%
