Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is offering opportunities to carry out Master’s internships in the field of electrochemical energy storage and conversion, EES, and thermal energy storage and conversion, TES.
If you would like to join a young, dynamic, collaborative and multidisciplinary team, learn from internationally renowned scientists and use state-of-the-art equipment and technology, this could be your opportunity.
Applications are open to students from areas such as materials science, physics, chemistry, engineering or related disciplines who wish to develop their research skills.
The projects will be carried out as Master’s internships and will last approximately 5-6 months.
There may be the possibility to continue afterwards with a doctoral thesis, PhD.
RESEARCH AREA AND TOPICS:
Projects in the Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion area:
- Gas-phase surface functionalisation of Na-layered oxides for moisture-resilient Na-ion cathodes.
- Material-level thermal safety assessment of commercial sodium-ion batteries using reproducible DSC protocols.
- New gel polymer electrolytes based on single lithium-ion conductors for high-voltage, high-power LiM batteries.
- New solvents for LiM and Na-ion batteries.
- Multiscale simulation and validation of battery electrode calendering for Digital Twin development.
- Synthesis of new polyanionic compounds for Na-ion batteries.
Projects in the Thermal Energy Storage and Conversion area:
- Biopolymer-PCM fibres for thermal management.
- Electrification of metal-oxide-based thermochemical gas-solid reactions.
APPLICATIONS:
Interested candidates should submit their application through this website, attaching their CV and bachelor’s degree academic transcript.
CIC energiGUNE is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunities and the diversity of its workforce. Therefore, as part of our commitment to inclusion, we welcome applications regardless of gender identity, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability or age.
