GUIDO SPANU

Presentation

Guido Spanu conducted his Bachelor´s Degree in Chemistry at Sapienza University of Rome in 2018. He graduated with a thesis dedicated to the review of literature regarding ionic liquids in supercapacitors, supervised by Prof. Enrico Bodo.

He continued his Master´s Degree at the Sapienza University of Rome, where he graduated in March 2021. During this time, he was awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to conduct a 7 months internship at Technische Universität München (TUM) in the group of Dr. Christoph Scheurer. Here he worked on theoretical studies of oxide ions diffusivity properties at anode-electrolyte interface of Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC).

After a brief experience in the private sector, he started a Research Fellowship at Sapienza University of Rome and ENEA Casaccia Research Center in April 2022. During this period he worked on the development of cathodes for calcium-ion batteries, within ACTeA project. As side-project, he also studied the employment of calcium ferrites as conversion anodes for lithium-ion batteries.

In June 2023, Guido joined CIC energiGUNE as a pre-doctoral researcher to conduct a doctoral thesis on the development and optimization of protective layers for high-voltage active materials in solid-state batteries.
