Hugo Arrou-Vignod obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) in 2018 with a thesis on the detection of molecules in interstellar space. Right after graduating, his enthusiasm for spectroscopy led him to pursue a research internship in Prof. Eric Vauthey’s group (University Of Geneva) in which he investigated the photophysical properties of an anthracene derivative.
Following this, he joined Uppsala University (Sweden) for a Master in Chemistry for Renewable Energy and graduated in 2020. He notably contributed to the development of a TiO2 paste for Dye-sensitized solar cells during a research internship in Prof. Gerrit Boschloo’s research group (Uppsala University). On the other hand, his Master´s thesis consisted of the development of an innovative light-driven renewable jet fuel production technique, under the direction of Prof. Henrik Ottosson (Uppsala University). During this project, he conducted the synthesis of photosensitizers and the optimization of photo-reactors toward the obtention of jet fuel equivalents.
In 2021, he started a predoctoral researcher position at CIC energiGUNE. His industrial PhD project aims at developing a competitive solid-state battery technology based on the development of innovative polymer, quasi-single ion-conducting composites and lithium salts.
