Idoia Urteaga finished her Chemistry degree at the University of Navarra in 2021. Her bachelor thesis (Effects of atmospheric pollution on Spanish forests) was developed at the same university in the Integrated Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry. In 2022 she completed a master´s degree in New Materials at the universities of Cantabria and the Basque Country, where her master´s thesis (Hybrid materials based on biopolymers and metal oxide nanoparticles for in-flow purification of contaminated water by photocatalytic degradation) focused on synthesizing and characterizing a biodegradable hybrid material capable of absorbing and photocatalytically degrade various pollutants. At the end of 2022 and 2023 she did an internship at Westus (Leeuwarden, The Netherlands) focused on the fabrication and characterization of anion exchange membranes for the separation of nitrates and chlorides from wastewater.
