Jiali Liu joined Evonik Oxeno GmbH & Co. KG and Ruhr-Universität Bochum as a doctoral researcher in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Robert Franke. Her doctoral research mainly focused on quantum chemical investigations of mechanisms of alkoxycarbonylation and hydroformylation reactions, in collaboration with experimental researchers from the Leibniz-Institut für Katalyse. Her work mainly involved density functional theory (DFT), mechanistic analysis, conformational sampling, and microkinetic modeling.
After completing her doctoral studies, she joined CIC energiGUNE as a postdoctoral researcher in 2026.
