Luz del Carmen Granados Botello is a Materials Chemical Engineer, graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ, Mexico), where she focused on the study of materials applied in the aerospace industry. She later pursued a master’s degree in Chemical Research and Industrial Chemistry at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, concentrating her research on sustainable solutions for environmental remediation through the photoreduction of heavy metals using atomic quantum clusters (AQCs).
In 2015, she joined the Centro de Ingeniería y Desarrollo Industrial (CIDESI, Mexico) as a Failure Analysis Lab Technician, specializing in material characterization. She applied metallographic analysis techniques and hardness testing to evaluate the quality of critical components in the aerospace and automotive industries, ensuring that the components met the necessary performance standards. In July 2016, she joined General Electric (GEIQ, Mexico) as a Jr. Engineer in the Materials Laboratory. In this role, she was responsible for conducting metallurgical and failure analysis of GE’s jet engine components, utilizing various technologies such as FTIR and SEM/EDS for key research projects. Additionally, she managed activities to ensure quality standards in laboratory operations.
In June 2020, she began working at the Universidad Tecnológica de Querétaro (UTEQ, Mexico), initially as an Administrative Coordinator in the Dirección de Innovación y Desarrollo Tecnológico and later as a Liaison Coordinator in the CIC 4.0. In these roles, she coordinated programs to strengthen synergies between the university and industry, promoting technology transfer and the development of joint projects. At the end of 2023, she joined VEFCA as a Quality Engineer, contributing to process optimization and ensuring quality in projects.
In October 2024, she became part of the General Analysis Characterization Unit and Electron Microscopy Platform at CIC energiGUNE.
