MAHA ISMAIL

Presentation

Maha received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2013 from the Lebanese University. Then, she completed her Master 2 Research degree in Molecular Inorganic Chemistry from the Lebanese University in 2015, where she did her master II thesis under the title of        “The Reduction of Aromatic Alkynes by Hydrogen Transfer catalyzed by Palladium complex”. In 2017, she worked as a research and teaching assistant at Beirut Arab University (BAU), her research was focused on the elaboration of new materials based on silica oxides doped by rare earth metals for the development of a new dosimetric generation in collaboration with the Lebanese Atomic Energy Committee (LAEC). During her research at BAU, she was selected by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to pursue an internship at the Institute Charles Gerhardt de Montpellier (ICGM-CMOS) in France, under the supervision of Professor Ahmad Mehdi in the CMOS Group “Chimie Moléculaire et Organisation du Solide”, where she acquired a solid background in the field of preparation of nanomaterials by soft route (sol-gel process) and its characterization methods. In 2021, Maha was awarded the FPI Grant in ION-SELF project from the Spanish government to start her PhD at CIC energiGUNE. She’s currently working as a Predoctoral researcher, and her doctoral thesis will be focused on the accelerated discovery of new electrode materials for Li-ion and Na-ion batteries, using Artificial Intelligence-aided high-throughput synthesis methods.
