MARIA TAEÑO GONZALEZ

Presentation

María Taeño González obtained her bachelor´s degree in Chemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2015. During her last year, she carried out her bachelor thesis at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. The main objective of this project was the synthesis and characterization of transparent conducting oxides for the fabrication of luminescent composites. In 2016, she completed her Master’s degree in “Nanophysics and Advanced Materials” at the Faculty of Physical Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid. Her master´s thesis was focused on obtaining transparent conducting oxides for energy applications, specifically in batteries. In April 2017, she started her PhD at the Faculty of Physical Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid. The research performed during her PhD was focused on the synthesis and characterization of undoped and doped nickel oxide with elements of technological interest, for energy and sensing applications. In 2019 she joined at the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) for a PhD Internship of three months. The motivation of the PhD Internship was the implementation of nickel oxide-based materials as electrodes in supercapacitors. In April 2020, after obtaining her PhD degree, she stayed for sixteen months as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid. In September 2021, María Taeño joined CIC energiGUNE as a Postdoctoral researcher, where is currently working on the development of nanostructured materials for thermal energy storage.
