Mert Yalçınöz completed his Bachelor´s degree in Chemical Engineering at Gebze Technical University, graduating with honors. He is currently pursuing a Master´s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Valladolid, where he is actively involved in laboratory projects focused on biomass and the application of various characterization techniques.
During his undergraduate studies, he worked on the development of a Zn-Se battery system, which sparked his interest in the energy sector. Following his graduation, he joined Hayat Kimya as an R&D Engineer, where he contributed to research and development projects.
Mert completed a master´s internship at CIC energiGUNE, specializing in surface analysis and characterization within the sodium battery sector. His role consisted of both expanding his knowledge and contributing to ongoing research projects in this emerging field.
After defending his master´s thesis, Mert joined the Inorganic Materials group and the SAU (Surface Analysis Unit) platform as a predoctoral researcher in February 2026.
