Muhammad Nihal Naseer is a Mechanical Engineer graduated from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan. He started his research career in 2018 at NUST where his work was focused on the thermodynamic modelling of energy conversion systems. In 2019, he expanded his experience by serving as a scientific assistant at the NANOCAT research center at the University of Malaya, Malaysia.
In 2022, he achieved recognition as an Erasmus Mundus scholar, earning the opportunity to pursue his master´s degree in Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (MESC+), a distinguished Erasmus Mundus joint Masters´ degree program. Within this program, his specialization centers on material characterization for energy storage applications. During the summer of 2023, he took part in a research project involving the computational modeling (DFT) of MXenes, exploring their applications in energy storage. This research was carried out in collaboration with Prof. Yury Gogotsi´s group at Drexel University.
Currently, Nihal is passionate about exploring the forefronts of computationally guided material selection and their characterization for next generation of batteries.
After finishing in the top 3 in his master thesis defense, Nihal joined CIC energiGUNE as a PhD researcher.
