Shmuel De-Leon, a leading international expert in the field of batteries and energy storage, will be at the Álava Technology Park next week to offer an advanced training seminar on current trends and the medium-term development of the industry. The two-day seminar, jointly organised by CIC energiGUNE and Bcare, a spin-off of the Centre which offers value-added services to industry in the field of energy storage, will take place on 24 and 25 September.
The aim of this joint CIC energiGUNE and Bcare initiative is to offer professionals the opportunity to access the most advanced knowledge in a sector that maintains high development expectations. In fact, European institutions and agents have repeatedly expressed the need for highly qualified professionals capable of meeting the challenges of a high-impact industry in which Europe is still lagging behind other economies.
The electric vehicle, stationary applications, supercapacitors and fuel cells will be four key themes of the seminar, which will also focus on aspects of the battery life cycle, design and manufacture. In this sense, battery design and the testing process will be especially relevant, as they are considered fundamental tools for the development of the new generation of batteries.
The training programme, designed for professionals in the sector as well as for researchers and engineers, will be divided into 15 modules. During the first day, attendees will be given practical information on the origin and evolution of batteries, as well as on the different chemical processes, after which a series of workshops will be run on battery charging and recharging. Time will also be dedicated to batteries for military use, the different design processes and safety protocols.
