Nuria Gisbert has a Ph.D. in Business Management and Innovation (University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, 2018)-, a degree in Industrial Engineering (Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao-UPV/EHU, 2000), and a Master´s degree in Telecommunications (Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao-UPV/EHU, 2002), Executive MBA by the prestigious IE Business School of Madrid (2007) and Executive and Team Coach by the European School of Coaching (2021-2022).
She is currently General Manager of CIC EnergiGUNE, one of Europe´s most important centers in energy storage and a member of the Basque Research & Technology Alliance-BRTA.
She is also a Member of the Board of the Basque Agency of Innovation (Innobasque) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Basque Science and Technology Commission for the President of the Basque Country. Nuria Gisbert is also President and member of the Board of the two spin-offs launched by CIC energiGUNE, BCARE and BASQUEVOLT.
Since 2015 Dr. Gisbert has collaborated with a research team of the Institute of Applied Business and Economics of the University of the Basque Country-UPV/EHU, which investigates inter-organizational and academic mentoring. Thanks to this research, she advises more than 20 organizations interested in this practice of professional and personal development. Likewise, Dr. Gisbert has collaborated closely with implementing various mentoring programs, including the mentoring program for doctoral students of CIC energiGUNE.
In 2019 she was awarded the "Woman and Science" prize by the Association of Women Managers of Alava AMPEA. In 2020 she was awarded the "Empresarial AED" prize that the Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Executives of Bizkaia awards annually. In 2022 she was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the UPV/EHU in the category "Social Sciences-Business" of the 2018/19 call. In 2024, she was granted the WITH Award for Female Leadership.
Dr. Gisbert counts with more than 20 years of experience linked mainly to the energy sector, in private companies, and research centers. Dr. Gisbert has managed hundreds of industrial projects connected with the energy sector (primarily for international utilities). She has also participated as a PI or Senior Researcher in many others. Dr. Gisbert has also collaborated with different international working groups of the energy sector, such as T&D Europe, CIGRE, and AENOR standardization committees.
