PAOLA ZIMMERMANN CROCOMO

Presentation

Paola Zimmermann Crocomo earned a bachelor degree in Chemistry (2016) and a Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry (2018) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. For her final degree project, she worked on the synthesis and characterization of liquid crystalline compounds. During the Master’s project, she synthesized and characterized organic modified xerogels and metallic nanoparticles, used for electrode’s surface modification, which were applied to the electrochemical determination of nitro contaminants in solutions and serum samples. In 2019, she obtained a scholarship to carry out a doctoral thesis at Silesian University of Technology, in Poland. Her work was focused on the electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical and photophysical characterization of organic emitters which presented delayed fluorescence properties and their application in OLED devices. In 2019 and 2021 she carried out a doctoral secondment at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. She defended her thesis and earned the PhD title with honors in July of 2022. During more than 10 years working in research laboratories, she worked in the most diverse areas of Chemistry, gathering a broad experience, always focused on the development and structural characterization of new materials.

Since November 2022, she has been working at CIC energiGUNE as a postdoctoral researcher in the "Phase transitions and critical behaviors" group of the Thermal Storage Area.
