PAULO FILIPE SEROBABA SOARES LUIS

Presentation

Paulo Luís graduated in Energy and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Portugal) in 2017. While an undergraduate, he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), later joining the Fraunhofer Institute of Chemical Technologies (Germany), where he carried out his master project, focused in the fabrication of novel separators and electrodes for Li-S battery systems. In 2018 he started his PhD at Loughborough University (United Kingdom). The research focused in the development of printed textile supercapacitors, aiming toward the formulation and optimization of screen-printable high-surface area carbon-based inks to manufacture flexible electrodes. Moreover, suitable strategies were investigated to accommodate printed multi-layered structures onto textiles, mitigating approaches to shield highly conductive flexible metal-based materials in the composite electrode, and means to minimise the introduction of expensive metallic materials without pertaining the electrochemical performances.
