Shayan Javanmardi received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2019. His undergraduate thesis focused on synthesizing hard carbon anode materials from biowaste, human hair and walnut shells, for sodium-ion batteries.
From 2021 to 2024, he worked as a Research Engineer at Parthian Battery Novin, a company producing batteries at pilot scale for electric motorcycles, where he carried out electrochemical characterization of lithium-ion full cells, detected electrochemical aging mechanisms, and optimized electrode processing.
In 2024, he began a Master´s degree in Chemical and Process Engineering at Åbo Akademi University, Finland, completing his thesis research at Aalto University on "LiXTiYOZ coatings and the prelithiation effect on silicon anode performance" under the supervision of Prof. Tanja Kallio and Prof. Johan Bobacka.
He joins CIC energiGUNE under the DESTINY2 European Doctoral Program for "Advanced Polymeric Interfaces for Durable Lithium Batteries: Stabilizing SEI and Enabling High-Voltage CAMs" under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Santiago. He will conduct part of his doctoral research at Warsaw University of Technology with Professor Władysław Wieczorek.
