Dr. Vladislav Kolotygin obtained his PhD degree in the area of Materials Science and Engineering in 2015 (University of Aveiro, Portugal). His PhD thesis titled as “Perovskite-Like Oxide and Composite Anode Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells” was devoted to synthesis and characterization of mixed-conducting compositions as potential components of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) anodes. Apart from his academic studies, Vladislav participated in Portuguese and European research projects aimed to elaboration of materials for applications as SOFC electrodes and electrolytes, glass-ceramic sealants, oxygen-permeable membranes for catalytic processes. The results of his research activity for 2007-2013 were presented in 23 papers.
Afterwards, Dr. Vladislav Kolotygin had a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Solid State Physics (Chernogolovka, Russia). During this fellowship, Vladislav participated in R&D projects devoted to fabrication of planar SOFC batteries, from laboratory-scale model cells up to >2 kW-power stacks. His activity was associated with behavior analysis of the functional materials (stability, transport and thermomechanical properties) under SOFC operation conditions, relationships between their composition, properties and operation performance. Particularly, the possibility of utilization of hydrocarbon-containing gases as battery fuel and possible electrode carbon poisoning was widely investigated. For this purpose, the gas-chromatography method for rapid and precise gas analysis was optimized by Vladislav by elaboration of specific electrochemical method of chromatograph calibration. Generally, the fellowship resulted in issuing 19 articles and 1 patent.
In 2020, Dr. Vladislav Kolotygin joined CIC energiGUNE as a post-doctoral researcher.
