This recent announcement comes after the approval, last October, of the strategic document "Hydrogen Road Map: a commitment to renewable hydrogen" where a plan of 8,900 million Euros is proposed and which identifies the challenges and opportunities for the full development of renewable hydrogen in Spain.

The document published by MITECO assures that "with the objective of being effective and efficient in the deployment of the measures included in the Recovery Plan, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge launches this first expression of interest, so that all interested agents can have a communication channel within the framework of the Recovery Plan so that it can serve to identify and locate renewable hydrogen solvent projects in the State, their impact on the entire value chain and industrial development as well as on employment, to know their transformative effect on the economy, decarbonization and social and territorial cohesion. ”

In this sense, a call has been made to all agents related to the hydrogen sector to submit their projects before December 19, 2020 through the following email address: bzn-h2renovable@miteco.es indicating in the subject: "Renewable Hydrogen Project".
