Dr. Faheem Mushtaq, a Chemical Engineering PhD graduate from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, offers a rich background in product design and development. His background is rooted in computational modeling, optimization, experimental design, material characterization, and data analysis. His knowledge encompasses various facets of electrochemical processes, with a keen understanding of the key factors influencing electrochemical performance and durability.
During his tenure as a postdoctoral researcher at City University of Hong Kong, he actively contributed to the design and development of battery systems, flexible materials, and devices. Collaborating closely with other team members, Dr. Mushtaq has developed mathematical models and simulated novel cell designs. His proficiency in employing computational techniques, such as finite element analysis in combination with the phase-field method, alongside his expertise in materials characterization, enables him to delve into the structural, thermal, electrochemical, mechanical, and transport properties of energy storage systems.
Dedicated to advancing electrochemical technology deployment, he utilizes a combination of experimental and computational methods to explore cell and battery pack performance under diverse operational conditions. By conceptualizing and designing high-efficiency battery configurations, he aims to push the boundaries of electrochemical energy storage. While his primary focus lies in electrochemical cell modeling and navigating complex multi-physics problems, his burgeoning interest in machine learning presents an exciting avenue for innovation. He envisions integrating machine learning techniques into battery research to unlock new possibilities and improve forecasting accuracy.
